Community Preservation Act New Release: Community Preservation Plan FY2023 – FY2027 



The Community Preservation Committee has approved the updated Community Preservation Plan, which now includes data from the 2025 funding round. This plan will guide the City of Boston’s allocation of CPA funds for fiscal years 2023 through 2027. You can learn more about the committee’s goals and evaluation criteria, and review highlights from the program’s eight funding rounds to date (FY2018-FY2025).Read the full plan here and visit our page for more updates.New FY2027 Eligibility Determination Form – Now Open!To apply for our FY2027 Funding Round please review our new Eligibility Determination Packet, the How to Apply Page, and complete an Eligibility Determination Form online.The CPA Office will determine if a project meets the eligibility criteria of the CPA statute. If your project is eligible, applicants are invited to submit an application for consideration to our nine-member Community Preservation Committee.

Deadline: Monday, August 31, 2026, at 5:00 P.M.

How will CPA Grant Funds Impact Your Neighborhood?The FY2026 application round is underway. The most recent application deadline resulted in over 80 applications and over $37.5M in funding requests across all 3 categories: affordable housing, historic preservation, open space, and recreation. Nearly all neighborhoods in the city are represented in this round, with Bay Village being the only one that did not submit an application.What’s Next?The Community Preservation Committee (CPC) will review all FY2026 applications and recommend projects for funding to the Mayor and City Council by February 2026. A schedule of upcoming CPC public meetings is listed below.
