Boards and commissions

Search and find information about the City’s boards and commissions.

Boards and commissions are an important part of Boston’s government. Each board or commission works with internal departments, City Councilors, and the public to serve the City. Learn more about how Boston’s government works.

We urge you to get involved. Our families and our neighborhood deserve a healthier, more equitable, and more sustainable future. It is on our watch.

Pier 5—iconic, open, accessible, and inspiring—offers clean air, blue water, and sacred ground for the public enjoyment of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”

This is where it all began. Stand with us at the Head of the Harbor, surrounded by history: the Tall Ships, the view of the Old North Church, the city skyline, and the outer harbor. Stand under the sky, by the water, on historic land.

Live, learn, experience, grow—that is what public space is for. And that is what is not for sale behind a ticket gate or hidden behind the steel hulls of mega-yachts.
